Well it's been a quite a while since I've posted an update to my car so I figured now would be a good time to post the start of a long winded update. Basically at the end of last year I pulled the motor to do some clean up and check what I suspected was lifter tick. I had big plans over the winter to get rid of the 3 or 4 piggy back control units I had and go to one stand alone unit. After some quick work I got the motor out found out the lifter tick wasn't a big issue and got to work, here's a list of the changes I made: Specialty Z 3" Expansion Downpipes AMS Manifolds AMS 3" to 2.5" Test Pipes MAJOR wire tuck ( still have a little to finish up) A/C Delete Fuse Box Relocation Rebuil PS pump devaning in the process Began powdercoating numerous items over to a new color scheme Replaced cam seals Installed my SECOND 98 Spec Transmission (First one was DOA) Nismo Exhaust hanger bushings Relocate Radiator overflow using a smaller bottle Install Microtech LT16s Standalone Engine Management I also got collectors plates :)I will post up pictures of most of this when I finish up the small bits and tomorrow. Obviously with the Microtech standalone I had to have the car tuned professionally, so today after a long wait I met up with Corey Parish at SlowMotion Motorsports in Columbus to get the car tuned. After changing spark plugs and gapping to .28 the 8 hour day was underway :). For those that don't know my current mods on the car are listed below: --Engine-- Short block courtesy of Weber racing Wiseco .20 over Redecked block All passages deburred and cleaned up Block hot tanked Rods shot peened and cleaned Toga HP+ bearings Crank micropolished and rotating assembly balanced 3 angle valve job with bronze guides nearly all the short block completely redone and built to spec Z1 GT600R Turbo kit Specialty Z 3" Dowpipes AMS 3" to 2.5" test pipes AMS Manifolds HKS Hiper Custom relocated dual intake ALL emissions deleted Samco boost hoses Nismo 740's 300* HPFR Every other part was replaced with OEM parts --Cooling-- AMS Radiator H.I Waterpump Pulley Nismo Thermostat Samco Upper and lower hoses Greddy SMICs --Electronics-- Microtech LT16s Standalone HKS EVC VI HKS Type 1 Turo Timer --Drivetrain-- Southbend 6 Puck Feramic Fidanza Flywheel Nismo needle bearing 98+ Transmission CZP pivot ball and steel braided line Bridgestone Potenza RE750s Finally after spending all day first of all learning how to tune Microtech, and carefully shaking the car down I was pretty pleased with the results considering we were only running 93 Octane and 20psi
490 Torque 470 Wheel Horsepower Sorry that its a picture of a printout, thats the only way I knew to get it online, results will probably end up on their website at some point. All I can say is this thing pulls hard and fast to redline in every gear.
